December, a Busy Month for Florists
December 2018

Hi everyone - I’m delighted to report that we just received a pledge from Barnet Council of £5,000 which means we’ve now raised 65% of our total. Community Barnet kindly wrote to Barnet Council’s Chief Executive last week suggesting that building companies working in Barnet might like to donate their services in kind as part of their corporate social responsibility - it’s a novel and ingenious approach and I’m hopeful. I’m in the middle of a fortnight’s manic fundraising ranging from wreath making at Middlesex University this Thursday between 12 and 2 if your’e around, a variety night on Friday evening which I would love your support for and next Tuesday 11 December a Quiz Night at The Antwerp Arms in Tottenham. Thanks to all the wonderful women who turned out on Saturday and to the Kudabayev family on Sunday for hosting a wreath making workshop in their kitchen - the smell of the blue pine was fabulous. This Friday 7 December The Flower Bank together with the Last Cuppa are hosting a variety night at Trinity Church North Finchley, N12 7NN from 6.30 pm. The acts range from an astounding teenage rapper to an octogenarian story teller who’s shortly to appear on Britain’s Got Talent. We’re worried that not enough people will turn up to support the performers and us so your support would be gratefully received. Next Tuesday 11 December The Flower Bank is hosting a quiz night at North London’s only community pub The Antwerp Arms, N17 8AS - it should be a good night and I would love to meet you. In more good news Spacehive have kindly given me an extension of 1 month to raise the amount required so the deadline for the crowdfunding has been extended to January 17th. More news when I have it.
